In Saginaw, Aleda E. Lutz VA has named Dr. James Hines as their medical centers’ new chief of staff as well as for nine other communities based outpatient clinics located in Alpena, Bad Axe, Clare, Cadillac, Cheboygan County, Gaylord, Oscoda, Grayling, and Traverse City.
Hines has been serving at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center as a primary care physician before being appointed for this position and has brought with him great experience from several number of private sector medical facilities for including Recovery Pathways, Valley OB/GYN, Weatherby Healthcare, Covenant, and Saint Mary’s (now Ascension). He has been board certified in family medicine as well as obstetrics and also gynecology, he is also certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry along with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
He graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine located in Indianapolis, Indiana with a degree in medical doctorate, and completed his postgraduate studies in the field of family medicine residency in Fort Wayne, Indiana; attended French Language Institute in Albertville, France; completed a fellowship in tropical medicine from Antwerp, Belgium; went to Sango Language School in Nzoro, Central African Republic; and finished obstetrics and gynecology residency from Saginaw.
He has a number of memberships of different societies and is currently teaching OB/GYN and also family medicine to the residents, as well as the students of medicine and PA. To his credit, Dr. Hines has many published articles, he has also completed several research projects, and has been displaying an extensive list of presentations related to medicine/education throughout his career in medicine.
