BioMed Realty, a Blackstone portfolio firm which is the foremost provider of real estate solutions to the Life Science Community®, and the University of California San Diego rejoiced in the inauguration ceremony, which took place today, of the Center for Novel Therapeutics. The CNT is situated inside the UC San Diego Science Research Park campus.
The latest research center is spread at 137,500 square feet. It adds the influence of the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center to the private sector firms who are hoping to turn their studies into aiding individuals suffering from cancer worldwide.
The progress shows a $92 million investment, thanks to BioMed Realty, an international forerunner in life science real estate.
Thomas Kipps, the Inaugural Director of the Center for Novel Therapeutics, and Dennis Carson, MCC Director Emeritus, insistently chased and developed their mutual vision for this venture, at the point where the private sector meets the academic study. Following many years of preparation and hard work, they took up the opportunity to put forward this idea to Pradeep Khosla, the UC San Diego Chancellor, who was quick in acknowledging its potential to profit the whole region.
Pradeep Khosla stated how the CNT association with BioMed Realty is going to modify the face of patient care by bringing the latest therapies from research to market more proficiently than before. He added how these kinds of associations help UC San Diego edge closer to its aim of establishing itself as the destination-of-choice for students, researchers, patients, and the community at large.
Because of the association between BioMed Realty and UC San Diego, the Center for Novel Therapeutics will be San Diego’s latest devoted oncology study center, supporting the best facilities to help progress therapies for patients suffering from cancer.
