The HIV infection is one of the deadliest infections which was responsible for the most death records in the past few years and it has been a severe health problem in India as according to a report, India had 2,100,000 people with HIV infection. The people with a higher risk of getting infected by the virus are the sex workers, drug addicts, and transgender people.
Since it is very challenging to diagnose the person infected with HIV, it is too late when a person is diagnosed with the contraction as the virus gets attached to our DNA and multiplies themselves secretly.
The researchers are going on across the world to design a pill that can reinforce in reducing the spreading of the disease and slowing done the multiplication. The drug can act as a preventive source. The researchers evaluated if such a drug can act as a preventive measure in India taking regard of the atmospherical conditions and whether it can be offered to the people with higher risks of HIV? And the major concern of the researchers was to prevent the side-effects of the drug.
The study involved two groups on high-risks of HIV- people who injected drugs and men who had sex with other men. There was an additional test on these people to make sure that they are not going through drug-related toxicity in their kidneys and the annual creatinine testing.
Taking the economic consequences into account, the research finally concluded that the pill included package with regular HIV testing costs about $90.36 or 6,420 Indian Rupees per year.
